Blazar Remus 1.5x Anamorphic Lenses (PL-Mount)
The Blazar Remus 1.5x is a compact anamorphic lens system designed to deliver a 1.5× horizontal squeeze factor for use on full-frame or Super 35 sensors, depending on the focal length version. Its optical design produces the characteristic anamorphic field of view and oval bokeh while maintaining a wider vertical resolution compared to 2× systems.
The lens produces controlled blue streak flares, moderate edge softness, and slight focus falloff typical of compact anamorphic optics. Distortion levels are present but remain predictable for framing, suited for narrative and commercial use. The 1.5× squeeze factor allows output formats such as 2.40:1 from a 16:9 sensor without excessive cropping.
The focusing mechanism is entirely manual with a long, dampened focus throw and 0.8-pitch cine gears for compatibility with follow-focus systems. Aperture is de-clicked for smooth exposure transitions. The optical assembly maintains consistent color transmission across the Remus line.
Depending on the focal length variant, the lens covers full-frame or S35 sensors, with image circle data varying slightly across the series. Build uses a standard cine front diameter, allowing matte box and accessory compatibility.
