Proaim 8m Crane

The Proaim 8m Crane is a modular aluminum jib system designed for extended reach camera movement. Its construction uses precision-engineered, lightweight aluminum sections that maintain rigidity across the full 8-meter span. The crane provides a stable platform for fluid, repeatable vertical, horizontal, and sweeping motions.

The arm integrates a central support bar and counterweight system to maintain balance with various camera payloads. Depending on configuration, it supports cinema cameras in the mid-weight category, such as compact digital cinema bodies and fully built mirrorless systems, provided the payload aligns with the crane’s rated limits.

The crane mounts on a standard heavy-duty tripod or dolly base using a reinforced central fork. The tilt and pan axes operate through mechanical bearing points, enabling smooth motion without electronic assistance. The design allows for manual remote head mounting or passive tilt control depending on the operational setup.

Cable routing channels are built into the structure to manage HDMI, SDI, or power lines, reducing interference during sweeping movements. The modular design allows the crane to be configured at multiple lengths below 8 meters for smaller sets or constrained locations.
